The recent move of the Swedish court to issue permission to anti-Islam extremists to desecrate the Holy Qur’an outside the main mosque in the capital city of Stockholm on the day of Eid al-Adha, under the pretext of freedom of speech, has once again revealed the obvious anti-Islamism of the government and security apparatus of this European country. This brazen act has raised the anger of Muslims around the world.

Imam Husayn (a), the son of Imam Ali and grandson of the holy Prophet Muhammad (s), refused to pledge allegiance against the tyranny of Yazid I, the Umayyad caliph. As a result, Imam Husayn and his 72 family members and companions were brutally massacred on the sands of Karbala as they rose up against the oppressive and religiously misguided regime. For this reason, the Shi’a honor Imam Husayn, the Chief of Martyrs, and commemorate the event every year during the holy month of Muharram.
Criminal who has insulted Holy Quran deserves severest punishment
The insult to the Holy Quran in Sweden is a bitter, conspiratorial, dangerous event. It is the opinion of all Islamic scholars that the agent who has insulted the Holy Quran deserve the severest punishment. In addition, the Swedish government should know that supporting criminals against the world of Islam is equivalent to going into battle-array for war. And this action has created feelings of hatred and enmity toward them in all the Muslim nations and many of their governments.
