Academic Cooperation between Iran and the Philippines to Increase
The Head of Anhui Yibu Education Educational Institute, specializing in sending students to different countries, along with the cultural Counselor of Iran in the Philippines, have reviewed the potential for academic cooperation between the two nations.
According to the report from the Public Relations Department of the islamic culture and relations organization, Jack Meng Bing, President of Anhui Yibu Education Institute, and Michael Montalbo Young, a professor from the University of Las Pinas in the Philippines, attended a cultural consultation session with Abdul Majid Abul Qasemi, the cultural advisor of Iran. During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of sending students from China to Iranian universities.
Abul Qasemi highlighted the scientific capabilities of Iranian universities, stating that many countries worldwide are striving to attract a significant number of international students. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran, with its internationally recognized universities, actively participates in this competition.
The cultural advisor of Iran in the Philippines added that higher education in any country can contribute to its economic growth by attracting a diverse range of international students. He noted the fierce competition among countries based on their national interests, and Iran is keen on establishing a prominent presence in this field.
He emphasized that universities globally are competing to attract international students, which serves as a success criterion for universities and contributes to global rankings.
Abolghasemi continued by stating that attracting international students to Iranian universities is crucial. Currently, thousands of students from over 90 nationalities are studying in Iran.
The cultural advisor of Iran in the Philippines regarded the 25-year agreement between Iran and China as a prime opportunity to strengthen and develop academic relations between the two countries. He expressed hope that as the custodian of Iran's cultural diplomacy, the cultural advisor could facilitate the foundation for this relationship, enabling universities from both countries to leverage each other's scientific and educational capacities.
During the meeting, Jack Meng Bing, the head of Anhui Yibu Education, provided an overview of their institution's activities in sending students abroad. He mentioned that they are in contact with over 200 Chinese universities and colleges and have successfully sent many students to various universities in the Philippines, including the Far Eastern University in Manila, the University of San Carlos Dresbo, the Institute of Health Sciences, and the Philippine Women's University.
Bing expressed his desire for cooperation between China and Iran to increase educational opportunities for Chinese citizens within Iranian universities. He expressed enthusiasm for collaboration between YIBU, the cultural consultancy, and Iranian universities to facilitate the education of a significant number of Chinese nationals in Iran.
Bing also expressed the readiness of his institution to include Iranian representatives in a conference aimed at direct communication with provincial universities and local tourism companies. This initiative aims to facilitate the exchange of students and tourists between the two countries, with the goal of sending more students and tourists to Iran.
