The fields of collaboration and academic interactions between Iran and the Philippines are established
At the opening ceremony of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the College of International Studies at Miriam University in the Philippines, Abolghasemi said: Iran's Cultural Center as a bridge can provide the basis for establishing academic interactions between the two countries and grant scholarships to talented and interested students of this university.
According to the Public Relation report of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, in line with the opening ceremony of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the College of International Studies at Miriam University in the Philippines and considering the arrival of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Masoumeh (s.a) and the commemoration of the Girl's Day, a photo exhibition showcasing on the introduction of the status and role of women and girls of our country stood up in various political, social, cultural, tourism, sports and scientific fields.
Ms. Melanie Reyes, Dean of the College of International Studies at Miriam University in the Philippines, in her brief remarks, pointed out the activities of this college and the planned programs for students in the month of May, and expressed appreciation for the participation of the Cultural Counselor of our country in setting up the photo exhibition.
In continuation, Abdolmajid Abolghasemi, Iran's Cultural Counselor in Manila, said: Cultural diplomacy is a part of public diplomacy that deals with establishing, developing and pursuing relations with foreign countries through culture, art and education and tries to use culture and elements and the cultural components affect the public opinion of other countries and increase the credibility and expand the influence in the international field.
He added: Cultural Center of the Embassies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the trustees of the cultural diplomacy department of the Islamic Republic of Iran, are responsible for expanding cultural relations with different nations and peoples of the world, strengthening and regulating Iran's cultural relations with other countries, providing the correct culture and civilization, cultural, geographical and historical features of Iran and the implementation of cultural programs, including strengthening cooperation in education, science and technology research between the two countries.
Regarding the introduction of the tourism potentials of our country, Abolghasemi said: Iran, as a country that has four seasons in its different regions, is considered one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Our historical and touristic attractions encourage many tourists to travel to Iran every year. The beauties of the cities of Shiraz and Isfahan and the historical monuments of many Iranian cities are unparalleled worldwide, and you can visit the beautiful regions of our country with the minimal expense.
In continuation of his speech, he said for the introduction of scientific and academic capacities: one of the important tasks of the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Manila is to introduce Iran's academic capacities to students interested in studying in Iranian universities. Currently, more than 90,000 international students from different countries of the world are studying in the universities of our country, and it is possible to grant scholarships to those who are interested.
Iran's Cultural Counselor in Manila reminded: Cultural Center as a communication bridge can facilitate the establishment of academic interactions between the two countries and grant scholarships to the talented and interested students of this university.
Abul Abolghasemi also pointed to the position and role of women and girls in our country in various fields such as political, social, cultural, sports, etc. and stated that women in Iranian society have equal rights as men. They have the right to study, work, own property and participate in scientific, cultural, social and economic activities and can easily progress in all fields.
He added: Nowadays, women as mothers play a very important role in raising children, because by giving children a correct identity, they can have a significant impact on creating sustainable social and cultural development. Our women and girls in Iranian families are always the best mothers and daughters following the example of Hazrat Fatima (s.a) and Hazrat Masoumeh (s.a), and they play very effective roles in the society by maintaining chastity, piety and modesty.
