The second night of mourning for the Master and Leader of the Martyrs, Imam Abu Abdullah al-Hossein (AS), commenced on Friday, July 12, 2024, corresponding with the 6th of Muharram.

Mr. Abdolmajid Abolghasemi, the Cultural Counselor, along with Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin, Dr. Ahad Azadi Khah, the esteemed representative of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, who was sent to Manila during the mourning period for Imam Hossein (AS), visited the Blue Mosque located in the Muslim neighborhood of Maharlika in the southeastern part of Metro Manila and the Darul Quran Kareem of this mosque.

On the occasion of the decade of Imamate and Wilayah, and the Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Ghadir celebrations, a grand celebration of Eid al-Ghadir was held on Monday, 4th Tir, at 8:30 PM, hosted by the Cultural Center. The event was attended by the esteemed Ambassador, a number of embassy staff, a representative of Al-Mustafa International University, Iranian expatriates, and devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt (the family of the Prophet).

Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the heavenly departure of the great leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), a session titled 'Examining the Position of Imam Khomeini's (RA) Ideology as a Symbol of Anti-Arrogance in the Contemporary World' was held with the presence of a large number of academic, cultural, and religious figures, as well as activists supporting Palestine.

This ceremony was held in the presence of the Ambassador and Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Philippines, diplomats, resident Iranians and some Muslims, and it began with the blessed recitation of Dua Kumayl and the Quran.

The photo exhibition "Successful Iranian Women" along with images from the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.) was held at the Film Center of the University of the Philippines (UP).

At the opening ceremony of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the College of International Studies at Miriam University in the Philippines, Abolghasemi said: Iran's Cultural Center as a bridge can provide the basis for establishing academic interactions between the two countries and grant scholarships to talented and interested students of this university.

Sabudin N. Abdul Rahim, in a meeting with the Ambassador and Cultural Counselor of our country in the Philippines, said: We attach great importance to the expansion of cultural and religious cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and there are very good capacities for cooperation that should gradually be utilized to strengthen relations.
