In order to develop and expand the Persian language and literature in the international arenas, especially in scientific and academic centers and institutions, in order to increase the necessary guarantees and also to make the scientific community more familiar with the scientific and literary capacity of the Persian language and to play an effective role in its expansion and development, in this regard, the Cultural Consultation of our country and the representative of the Saadi Foundation in Nigeria conducted a series of meetings and correspondence with the University of Abuja .
By the grace of God, these efforts led to the establishment of teaching Persian as a second language at the University of Abuja, and this university added the Persian language to its list along with other languages such as Chinese, Korean, Arabic, and French. Students of this university can choose Persian as their second language from the next semesters. In other words, from now on, Persian language is considered one of the optional units of undergraduate students of this university. According to the educational calendar of this university, the second semester will start on August 1.
In this regard, Mr. Majid Kamrani, the cultural advisor of our country in Nigeria, met with Dr. Abdul Qar Mubarak, one of the professors of law and humanities of this university and a graduate of the Ph.D. program in international law from the University of Tehran, at the place of consultation and discussed how he held this course in this university and other cultural consultation activities, including the establishment of the Iran Chamber for this great development. Meetings should be held with the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Abuja and the President of the University to further coordinate and expedite the work.
