The Department of Persian Language will be launched at the University of Abuja soon
In order to develop and expand the Persian language and literature in the international arena, especially in scientific and academic centers and institutions, and to familiarize the elites and scientific communities with the scientific and literary capacity of our country and to play an effective role in its expansion and development, the Cultural Consultation and the representative of the Saadi Foundation in Nigeria has organized a series of meetings with the officials of the University of Abuja.
By the grace of God, these efforts and visits eventually led to the possibility of setting up the teaching of Persian as a second language at the University of Abuja, and this university added the Persian language to its list of educational programs along with other languages such as Chinese, Korean, Arabic, and French. It is planned that this university will teach Persian as a second language in the form of its academic calendar from the next semesters.
In this regard, the members of the Department of Persian Language at the University of Abuja met with Mr. Mir Yousefi, the Honorable Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy, as well as Mr. Majid Kamrani, the Cultural Advisor, at the Embassy of our country. In this meeting, the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of our country in Nigeria, while welcoming the honorable members of the Department of Persian Language at the University of Abuja, appreciated and thanked them for their continuous, long and honest efforts in providing the possibility of teaching Persian language in this university as well as setting up the Department of Persian Language in this university, and called for more efforts to maintain and consolidate this presence in this scientific and academic center. In the following, Mr. Kamrani, the cultural advisor of our country, considered this action as a historic step and a great opportunity for the development of our country's scientific and cultural activities in Nigeria, and considered the establishment of the Iran Chamber in this university as another measure to complete the process of the effective presence of Islamic Iran in this field.
It is worth mentioning that this group, while thanking the very close cooperation of the embassy and the cultural consultation for the realization of this important task, expressed their views and opinions to guide and continue this program as best as possible.
