The Cultural Consultation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nigeria has planned a series of specialized meetings this year with the aim of getting acquainted with the challenges and harms of the family in the world, as well as benefiting from the useful experiences of other Islamic societies from each other, and emphasizing on achieving a solution to overcome possible problems, as well as conveying the true message of seeing the true manifestation of Islam, especially the rich culture of Shiism, to the audience with the consensus of thinkers and thinkers. .
In this regard, the first meeting of this series of education-based meetings and dialogues was held in order to empower women, especially Muslim and Shiite women in Nigeria, with the presence of scientific and academic figures and in cooperation with non-governmental centers and institutions, entitled "The Position of Women and Family in Islam and Christianity" in Nigeria.
In the opening ceremony of this meeting, Mr. Majid Kamrani, the cultural advisor of our country, while welcoming the participants of this meeting, announced that the religion of Islam attaches great importance to women and family and considers the role of women in the family and the role of the family in society to be very important. He went on to refer to the ups and downs of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, towards women and family, and said: "Imam Khomeini believed that the role of women in society is greater than that of men, and even the role of women is more than that of teachers in society, and the growth or non-growth of a society is directly related to the growth and non-growth of women in that society."
In this workshop and training session, Dr. Malama Jumai, a Muslim researcher and writer, speaking on behalf of the Nigerian Muslim community, especially the Nigerian Shiites, spoke about the view of Islam and the high position of women in it, and then Dr. Deborah Barai, on behalf of the Nigerian Christian community, explained the position of the family and women from the perspective of Christianity to the participants. At the end of the program, both of them answered the questions of the participants.
It is worth mentioning that this program was held in cooperation with the Al-Zahra Community Center in Nigeria (which was established by a group of professors of Muslim and Shiite universities in Kano and Kaduna states in 2023) and the cultural consultation of our country, and it is scheduled to continue quarterly with the topics affecting the country of the mission in the form of education and workshops.
