7. أولمْ یر الإنسان أنّا خلقْناه من نّطْفةٍ فإذا هو خصیمٌ مّبینٌ
8. وضرب لنا مثلا ونسی خلْقه قال منْ یحْیی الْعظام وهی رمیمٌ
9. قلْ یحْییها الّذی أنشأها أوّل مرّةٍ وهو بکلّ خلْقٍ علیمٌ

 “Does not man see that We created him from a drop of [seminal] fluid, and, behold, he is an open contender!?”

“He draws comparisons for Us, and forgets his own creation. He says, ‘Who shall revive the bones when they have decayed?”

“Say, ‘He will revive them who produced them the first time, and He has knowledge of all creation.”

On many occasions in the Holy Qur’an, God had reminded man how he was created. He was a puny sperm. It is commanded that man must always remember this. He should think deeply and see from what he is created.

When an intelligent man thinks over it, he sees that he was a drop of semen, which is detestable. Then the Designer Lord drew a wonderful picture! He formed the heart, liver, brain and all other parts and organs of body.

Then see the arrangement of bones from a fluid and that too in a dark and uneven place. In the words of the Holy Qur’an: In three-fold darkness of the umbilical membrane, the womb and the abdomen.

Is it ever possible that all this should happen haphazardly and without any higher power? Can there be an effect without a cause, a creation without a creator? Reason and intelligence do not accept this. Such a wonderful creation! The more man ponders over his own creation, the more he understands and realizes the Wisdom and Infinite Power of God.

God also provided a tongue, hands and feet. Man ought to remember such great bounties of God and become thankful to the One Who granted all this. He should be thankful unless he is blind and deaf and does not understand how great and precious these bounties are.

Now the question is: How much submissive we should be to the Lord Who gave so many precious and invaluable bounties to us? One who denies this truth is, first of all, inimical to his own Lord. In fact he is denying God. He is an open disputant. That is, he is an open enemy. This rebellion against God is because of ignorance, negligence, and heedlessness. Unfortunately, many people do not accept their responsibility and forget their connection with God, that is, the eternal self-existence of God. Man believes in self-reliance and independence for himself, which in itself is blasphemy, and finally he does not submit to Truth.

The deniers of Resurrection and the Day of Judgment look at the machinery of the universe with their short sightedness and say: “A person who died has become dust. The dust has got scattered and then transformed into other matters. How can these scattered elements be recollected or gathered again?

How can a body be reconstructed? How can it be re-enlivened?” Then he thinks about the Day of Judgment and expresses wonder on Paradise. Today, there are four milliard people. What about their number from the beginning to end? How can so many people be accommodated in Paradise or Hell?

Such vain thoughts make those who lack faith deny what God says in the Holy Qur’an.

In Mecca at the advent of Islam, Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny), was approached by two pagan Arabs, Abu Jahl and Ibne Abi Khalaf with a human bone. Ibne Khalaf crushed the bone with his hand and scattered its particles saying, “Who will e make this alive when it has totally rotted and scattered far and wide?”

Its response God commanded the Prophet to say that the One Who created him for the first time from nothing has the power to reconstruct and restore his powdered bones to the original shape. God’s power is not limited.

From these ayahs we learn that:

1. Ingratitude to God’s favours result from ignorance when in fact proper reflection on the realities of creation makes the faithful recognize the power of God in creating everything from nothing.
2. Deniers of Resurrection lack logic and reason to prove their claims.

Now we listen to and read ayah 80 of Surah Ya Sin:

7. الّذی جعل لکم مّن الشّجر الأخْضر نارًا فإذا أنتم مّنْه توقدون

“—He, who made for you fire out of the green tree, and, behold, you light fire from it!”

In continuation of the previous ayah which referred to God’s power of creation, this ayah refers to one of the most striking effects of the world of nature saying: "Because of the laws that God has set in nature, the sparks and fire are generated by the fierce fissures of the branches of green trees." It should be noted that, in the old days, matches and lighters were not available, and people ignited fire by striking stones or forcefully rubbing the tree trunks to create sparks and consequently the fire.

From these ayahs we learn that:

1. Understanding the nature and the rules governing strengthens the faith in God and His power.
2. The light and heat of the sun, which shines on the foliage of the trees, is not lost, but stored in it. When the wood burns, in fact the energy of the sun stored over the years in the trees
