IUIU 31st Graduation Ceremony 2023
Iran cultural Counsellor graced the Graduation ceremony at Ssumbwe Gardens, Wakiso District
This function was done to celebrate the education achievements of Counsel Jannat Namagembe for completion of Degree in Law from Law Development Centre and Islamic University in Uganda, female campus.
This occasion attracted different cultural, opinion and religious leaders that included the Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, The African Youth Ambassador, among others.
The function was opened by Quranic recitation from Sheikh Musa, the area Imam of Ssumbwe village.
The Area Local Council chairman welcomed invited guests and participants. He thanked counsel Jannat for completing her education and rallied other parents to focus on empowering their children.
Sheikh Musa encouraged parents to priotize resource development and management to build more resourceful professionals in the country.
He encouraged the Students to get married after completion of Education and establishing the household income.
Vice chairperson of Wakiso District, Miss Betinah Nantege thanked the parents for bringing up and educating their daughter to University level.
Sheikh Idris Matovu, county Sheikh of Wakiso thanked Miss Jannat for perusing her career in Law and cited the holy Quran saying that can they be equal, those who know and those who know not?
Hon. Gala Charles wilson, DP NEC member in Wakiso District appreciated the respected parents who tirelessly contributed to the academic milestone of their daughter.
Hon. Luyimbaazi Issah Katungulu, the African Youth Ambassador congratulated counsel Jannat Namagembe and her dear parents for raising such a morally upright personality.
He implored parents to take charge of their children at an early stage to avoid foreign invasion through different media platforms like Television and cyberspace which have caused alot of damage to the society.
He said that it's very challenging to attain girl child education in this contemporary world and therefore congratulated the parents and the people of Ssumbwe for having an elite in the District.
He asked Counsel Jannat to go on with the spirit of selflessness and humanity as previous speakers praised her exemplary characters during her life.
He quoted Nelson Mandela: “Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation.”
He added that the power of education extends beyond the development of skills we need for economic success. It can contribute to nation-building and reconciliation. Our previous system emphasized the physical and other differences of Africans with devastating effects. We are steadily but surely introducing education that enables our children to exploit their similarities and common goals, while appreciating the strength in their diversity.
H.E. Abdollah Abbasi, The Cultural Consular of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uganda, thanked almighty Allah for enabling Counsel Jannat Namagembe to complete her bar course in Law.
He congratulated sister Jannat on behalf of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uganda and wished her well in her entire life.
He said that wherever young people are engaged in pursuing education, remember that studying, combined with refinement and a sense of obligation and fine moral qualities, can make us truly human and save our respective countries from dependence. If your aim is to obtain a certificate or diploma in order to secure some material advantage, this is the diversion that the enemies desire.
He thanked the people of Ssumbwe for welcoming him and loving the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He Pledged to continue working with relevant authorities to prioritize culture and education programs especially among the youth that are cornerstones of the beloved country Uganda.
The Iranian Cultural Consular gifted the graduands with Iranian literature which promote culture and tourism.
