Iranology Exhibition
Iranology Exhibition at Islamic University in Uganda
Climatically, Iran is the land of four seasons for numerous geographic reasons such as standing at the vicinity of Europe, the Mediterranean Sea, the African Sahara desert, the Indian Ocean, the inland heights of Asia and the cold environment regions. By looking at the history of this land in Greek and Latin texts, one would face the term ''Persis'' or ''Persia'' that is derived from the Greek ''Persis'' more than Iran. Since 1935 the country has internationally been named ''Iran''.
Exploring 5,000 years of art, design and culture, Iranology exhibition shined a light on one of the greatest historic civilizations, its journey into the 21st century and its monumental artistic achievements, which remain unknown to many.
The students discovered the iconic Persian landmarks as they listened to the less-heard stories of the ancient land and found the hidden charms of the diverse culture! The Cultural Consulate of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kampala exhibition drives are much beyond a multi-day classic tour of Iran! So, beside the elegance of ancient heritages, charisma of vibrant bazaars, beauty of historical mansions, and allure of tasteful mosques, the exhibitions are always packed up with attractive documentaries, culinary adventures in publications, musical experiences, and much more…
The Iranology exhibition was opened to the students of Islamic University in Uganda, Kampala campus and it featured more than 300 items from ancient, Islamic and contemporary Iran, including manuscripts, ceramics, carpets, textiles as well as photos, the museum said.
