At the request of the Department of International Relations of the University of Mumbai, the Culture House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai held a special season for a group of students from the Department of International Relations, to familiarize themselves with the political and social and social capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. At the request of the Department of International Relations of the University of Mumbai, the Culture House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai held a special season for a group of students from the Department of International Relations, to familiarize themselves with the political and social and social capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This season was held in the presence of Dr. Ali Akbar Ziaei, Head of the Center for Dialogue between Religions and Cultures of the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization.
Dr. Ali Akbar Ziaei, Head of the Center for Dialogue between Religions and Cultures of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, who had come to India to participate in the fourth round of Dialogue between Religions and Cultures in New Delhi, participated in a special meeting with the professors and postgraduate students at the Firoz Mehta Faculty of the University of Mumbai on Thursday, 5th December 2024.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Professor Liaqat Ayub Khan, the professor of this group, welcomed the special guest and thanked the Culture House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai for coordinating this meeting. He also announced the desire of the professors and students of this group to travel to Iran to learn about the political system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and to become familiar with religious democracy.
Next, Dr. Ziaei, after explaining his academic and professional background and introducing the Center for Dialogue between Religions and Cultures, spoke about the diversity of religions in Iran and their religious and social activities. After that, the students asked their questions on various topics such as women's rights in Iran, how religion and democracy are linked, the reasons for the new generation's distance from religious culture, the effect of mass media on the generational divide, and the attachment of Iranian ethnic groups to their nationality, and Dr. Ziaei provided his detailed answers, citing the constitution and giving examples of the prevailing customs in traditional societies such as India.
After the meeting, a meeting was held with the presence of professors from the International Relations Department to discuss how universities in Iran and India interact, how to participate in holding joint seminars, and how to exchange professors and students.
