Meeting with The Presidential Advisor on political affairs in the office of the National Chairman
Hajjat Uzeiye Hadijah Namyalo, the Head of the Office of the National Resistance Movement National Chairman (ONC) said that these scholarships will create more political and social mileage for Iran -Uganda cooperation. Ugandan youths will be learned and experienced in different courses to come back and support development of the beloved country Uganda in various ministries.
She thanked the Cultural Counsellor for the warm reception and supporting Uganda in different social and cultural areas in Uganda.
She said that the Government of Uganda enjoys bilateral relations with the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran where she studied for one year.
She called upon the Iranian government to always continue supporting Ugandans and she requested for short courses for the youth leaders in Iranian universities in leadership, technical and vocational fields, Internship programs to advance their skills and knowledge.
Hajjat Namyalo’s character of truly being closer to the people, and most especially being honest, respectful, approachable and reachable when they need her is what makes her a whole lady. This is a character the people love to associate with, and there is nothing that attracts support from them as that, not even money as many people think!
While speaking, Mr. Abdollah Abbasi the Cultural Counsellor said that Iran is ready to enroll Ugandan students on scholarships at different levels of interest as it has been before to build a strong human resource pool of elites in various fields in Iranian universities including Ahlulbayt International University, which offers education opportunities to its friends all over the world.
He said that their mission is to provide education that support the pathways of all students as they plan for postsecondary, postgraduate and masters’ destinations. Students will gain a unique, multicultural education with Iran’s new international experience programme.
He said that they are dedicated to training students to effectively shape the future and become tomorrow’s leaders in an ever-changing world. With enterprise and success at its core, Iran offers industry-relevant programs which focus on developing the practical business skills needed to ensure the professional success.
National Resistance Movement was founded as a Liberation Movement that waged a successful protracted people's struggle that liberated Uganda from fascist and dictatorial regimes. The National Resistance Movement restored political stability, respect for human rights, national unity, peace, security, law and order, Constitutionalism and the rule of law;
NRM launched and executed a minimum economic recovery programme through rehabilitation and development of socio-economic infrastructure, reduction and control of inflation, promotion of local and foreign investment, promotion of private sector led growth and export-oriented production;
The National Resistance Movement introduced democracy and enfranchised the people of Uganda through restoration of the vote in regular, free and fair elections;
National Resistance Movement politically empowered previously marginalized sections of our society, namely women, youth, elders, people with disabilities and workers to play their rightful role in management of public affairs:
National Resistance Movement established participatory democracy through a policy of decentralization and self-governance through local councils, leading to political empowerment of the people and social harmony;
National Resistance Movement established and operated the Movement Political System, that enhanced the people's participation in the political, social and economic development of the country;
