The Cultural Counselor Visits Avance International University
The Cultural Counselor of the Republic of Iran visited Avance International University with the aim of exploring the scope of joint scientific and academic cooperation. While discussing and exchanging views with the university officials, he visited its various faculties and units. At the beginning of the visit, a meeting was held with the presence of Dr. Kato Kimata Joshua, vice chancellor of Avance International University, Dr. Peter Simbwa, Dean of the Faculty of Research and Publications, Dr. Musigi Bright, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dr. Betty Matijiko, Director of the University's Quality Assurance Department, and Mr. Sheikh Hamza Shaban, Imam of the University and Head of the University's Education Department.
At this meeting, Dr. Kato Kimata Joshua, President of Avance International University, while delivering a welcoming speech, presented a brief report on the history of the establishment, activities, and educational and medical goals of this international university, and said" Avance International University is a private higher education institution founded in 2019 by a Ugandan entrepreneur named Mr. Majwala. K. and has been handed over to the new university management. This international university is also recognized by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education and currently has 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students studying in six specialized faculties: Medical Sciences, Law, Computers and Information and Communication Technology, Business Administration, Humanities Education, and Research and Publishing.
He continued by congratulating the Iranian Academy of Sciences on its amazing successes in various scientific, academic, educational, and medical fields, and expressed hope for joint cooperation with the Iranian Academy of Sciences. Finally, he referred to the various medical departments established in the Medical Sciences Unit of this university, including: hospital, clinic, laboratory, dissecting room, morgue, pharmacy, etc. He expressed interest in equipping them with hospital supplies, medical equipment, and medicines made in Iran.
Then, our country's cultural advisor, while appreciating and thanking them for their warm hospitality, explained some of the cultural activities carried out by the Cultural Advisor of the Republic of Iran in Uganda, as well as some of the programs currently being implemented.
While explaining some of the scientific achievements of Iranian scientists and elites, he said: "Since 1979, following the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been subjected to the most severe and cruel sanctions by the United States and several European countries, but by relying on God Almighty and relying on the capacity of its youth and elites, it has been able to

Referring to the sending of more than 70 Ugandan scholarship students to the Republic of Iran in the past two years to study at undergraduate and graduate levels in various scientific and academic fields, the Cultural Counselor of our country called it an effective step towards increasing the level of scientific and academic interactions between the two countries and emphasized his efforts to continue the process of sending scholarship students to the Republic of Iran.
In another part of his speech, he referred to the genocide committed by the unbridled Zionist regime and the martyrdom of more than 65,000 oppressed and defenseless people of Gaza over the past two years, condemned the destruction of universities, hospitals, schools, etc., and called for this barbaric regime to be held accountable by the United Nations human rights institutions.
At the end of this program, the President of Avance International University, accompanied and provided the necessary explanations to the Cultural Counselor to visit various parts of this university, especially the parts under construction.
