Prof. Azarmi Dokht Safavi is a senior Professor of Persian and the Founder Director of Institute of Persian Research at Aligarh Muslim University in India. In her recent visit to Iran Prof.Safavi was invited to the poetic gathering at the residence of Rahbar e Moazzam . In her salutation to the Supreme Leader Prof.Safavi said that she is greatly honoured to be present before the Rahbar. She said that he is  a unique personality because other heads of states are involved in the economic and political affairs of their countries and not in poetic or literary affairs.Irans Supreme Leader is unique because he is an accomplished literary critic having complete command over Tashbeeh , Estearah etc. and promptly  makes corrections in couplets presented in his presence.  She said that India is a great center of Persian and she is  committed to promotion of Persian . The Supreme Leader said that India has contributed greatly to Persian  language and literatureand  and he has deep regards for Persian scholars in India like Prof Safavi.who put in efforts to advance the cause of Persian .
