Report on the Meeting with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Women and Child Affairs

Ali Kebryaei Zadeh, Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and held talks with Ms. Sarojā Savithri Paulraj, Minister of Women and Child Affairs of Sri Lanka, on Friday, April 10-2026 (Farvardin 21, 1405), at the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs in Sri Lanka.During the meeting, the Sri Lankan Minister of Women and Child Affairs referred to the long-standing and historic relations between the two countries, stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always stood by the people of Sri Lanka and has never left them alone in times of hardship. She also praised Iran’s rich cultural and artistic heritage.Ms. Sarojā Savithri Paulraj condemned the bombing of the Minab school, which resulted in the martyrdom of 168 students, describing it as a heinous act and a violation of international law. She expressed her sympathy, stating that the people of Sri Lanka share in the grief of the Iranian people.

The Minister further outlined the ongoing activities and programs of her ministry in support of women and children and announced the ministry’s readiness to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran in initiatives related to women and children.Ali Kebryaei Zadeh, while expressing his gratitude for Ms. Paulraj’s message of sympathy, addressed what he described as the crimes of the Zionist regime, including the bombing of residential areas, cultural heritage sites, universities, and industrial infrastructure, stating that such hostile actions disregard all human principles.The Cultural Counselor also presented a report on the activities of the Iranian Cultural Center and its engagement with Sri Lanka’s academic, cultural, and artistic sectors. He further elaborated on the capabilities and achievements of Iranian women across various scientific, artistic, economic, technical, and industrial fields.Ali Kebryaei Zadeh emphasized Iran’s readiness to expand close cooperation with the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs to further develop cultural and artistic initiatives.
