The organizers of this festival; The Performing Arts Center of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the Iranian Performing Arts Association, and the International Theater Institute are located in Tehran.
The first Fajr National Theater Festival, under the auspices of Taha Abdokhodaei, from 12 to 22 February 1982 in Tehran, in the main and four halls of Shahr Theater, Theater House, Faculty of Fine Arts, Sangalaj Theater, Ferdowsi, Bahar Cultural Center (Glass Museum), Niavaran Cultural Center Azadi Cultural Complex, Altar Hall, Museum of Contemporary Art, Rumi Hall and Vahdat Hall were organized by the Center for Performing Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
Over the past years, the Fajr Theater Festival can see the development of the performing arts in the country. Similarly, during the epic years of eight years of holy defense, theater artists followed in the footsteps of warriors, on battlefields, and in the trenches of cultural activities and theatrical scenes, trying to present a part of warriors' epic with live and dynamic narration in the form of theater works. .
