International Conference on “Mirza Bedil as the Quintessence of Composite Indian Culture & Humanism” in India held in India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi

The two-day international conference titled "Mirza Bedil as the Quintessence of Composite Indian Culture & Humanism} in India" concluded successfully on 29-30 August 2025, at the Islamic Cultural Center of India. Organized by the Bedil International Foundation, the Department of Persian, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi and the India Islamic Cultural Center, New Delhi, the event brought together scholars and dignitaries from India, Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. 

The conference began with the presence of notable figures such as Salman Khurshid, former Indian Foreign Minister; Dr. Iraj Elahi, Ambassador of Iran to India; the Ambassador of Tajikistan; and several prominent academics. Over two days, forty research papers exploring the life, philosophy, and poetry of Mirza Bedil were presented. 

The closing ceremony featured speakers including Dr. Faridoddin FaridAsr, Cultural Counselor, I.R. Iran, New Delhi; Qahraman Soleimani, Director of the Persian Research Center New Delhi; and Professor Aleem Ashraf Khan, HoD, Persian, University of Delhi. Discussions highlighted Bedil's enduring influence on Persian literature in Afghanistan, Iran, and beyond, as well as his contributions to mysticism and poetic aesthetics. 

The event underscored Bedil’s role in fostering cultural and literary connections between India, Iran, and neighboring countries. Participants emphasized the significance of his works in shaping contemporary Persian poetry and philosophical thought. The conference also provided a platform for dialogue among international scholars, strengthening cultural and academic ties across nations. 

This gathering reaffirmed the relevance of Mirza Bedil’s literary legacy in modern discourse and celebrated the shared cultural heritage of Persian literature.
