Literary discussion on Hafez and Tagore at Iran Society Kolkatta
Iran Society Kolkatta organized a literary discussion on Hafez and Tagore on Monday the 11th of December 2023 at Dr. M.Ishaque Hall .
It was inaugurated by Hojatul Islam Agha Mahdi Mahdavipour the Spiritual Representative of the Supreme Leader of I.R.Iran in the presence of Dr. Gholam Ali Hadad Adil, Dr Faridoddin FaridAsr Cultural Counsellor and Qeheman Soleimani along with other Indian Scholars.
It was chaired by Mr. K.S. Walia, Dr. Gholamali Haddad Adel, President of the Iranian Academy of Persian Language and Literature, delivered an insightful speech on the shared cultural heritage of Iran and India. The Cultural Counselor, Dr. Faridoddin Farid Asr, emphasized the importance of cultural exchanged between India and Iran.
Indian scholars, including Dr. Ghulam Sarwar, Dr. M. Firoze, Dr. Mansoor Alam, and Dr. Ghulam Moinuddin, presented enlightened view. Dr. Fuad Halim highlighted the rich heritage of both nations, and Dr. Qeherman Soleimani brilliantly summarized the proceedings. President Kawal Singh Walia delivered a brief speech, and Mr. Rajesh Arora proposed the vote of thanks. Khwaja Jaweed Yusuf moderated the discussion, providing an enriching experience about the great poets.
