International Conference on Islamic Arts and Architecture – Tradition, Transformation and Global Exchange
Islamic arts and architecture represent one of the most profound and diverse cultural legacies in the world, reflecting centuries of creativity, spiritual depth, and cross-cultural exchange. Rooted in Islamic principles, yet deeply influenced by local traditions and regional aesthetics, this rich heritage encompasses a vast spectrum of artistic expressions—from intricate calligraphy and geometric patterns to grand architectural marvels like mosques, madrasas, and palaces.
This international conference seeks to explore the multifaceted dimensions of Islamic arts and architecture across time and geography. It aims to bring together scholars, artists, architects, and cultural practitioners to engage in critical dialogue on themes such as artistic symbolism, architectural innovation, preservation of heritage, and the influence of Islamic aesthetics in contemporary design.
By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, the conference will provide a platform for new insights, comparative perspectives, and innovative approaches to understanding and revitalizing the legacy of Islamic artistic and architectural traditions globally.

ICIAA is a collaborative endeavor of the Universities and Institutions across the Globe with the objective of initiating deliberations and dialogues on the rich heritage and traditions vis a vis the contemporary context. The Department of Architecture at JamiaMilliaIslamia, New Delhi, is organizing the 7th Edition on 11-13th Nov 2025.
