CULTURAL CENTRE OF THE EMBASSY OF IRAN CELEBRATES 1500 YEAR BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH) TOGETHER WITH THE ISLAMIC COMMUNITY IN ZIMBABWE
10 September 2025 On September 9, 2025, the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Zimbabwe hosted an event to celebrate the 1500th birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This occasion, which is globally recognized during the Islamic month of Rabi' al-Awwal, brought together, various leaders from Zimbabwe's Muslim community and members of the diplomatic mission .

The celebration was attended by several notable figures, including the newly appointed Ambassador of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Amirhossein Hosseini. Also in attendance were Mr. Hamid Bakhtiyar, the Cultural Counsellor of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sheikh Abdullah Makwinja, President of the Ahlulbayt Islamic Guidance Council of Zimbabwe; and Sheikh Ismael Duwa, President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Zimbabwe.
Mr. Hamid Bakhtiyar, the Cultural Counsellor of the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized in upholding Prophet Muhammad's character as a model for divine guidance and leadership. However, Sheikh Abdullah Makwinja, Sheikh Ismael Duwa Dr. Aziz and Maulana Khalid in their speeches emphasized on the importance of Unity Week, a period recognized by Muslims worldwide as a symbol of peace and solidarity with the need for the global Muslim community, , to unite and raise awareness about ongoing injustices in Gaza, Palestine where Palestinian people suffer by the hands of the Zionist Regime.
The evening also featured a highly decorated performance by the choir from Fatima Zahra College, whose music ignited to the celebratory atmosphere.
