Cultural Counsellor Embraces the National Culinary Art Exhibition Program in Zimbabwe

May 2, 2025, The Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Hamid Bakhtiyar, honored the Food and Beverage Culinary Art Exhibition 2025 as today's guest of honor.

The event, was organized by the Zimbabwe School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in partnership with the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, aimed to promote and preserve culture and socio-economic development through culinary arts.

The exhibition celebrated gastronomy, sustainability, and cultural identity, featuring live demonstrations, competitions, and discussions on climate change adaptation, sustainable agriculture, and traditional food preservation. Mr. Bakhtiyar shared Iran's experiences in preserving traditional gastronomy as a cultural identity, highlighting the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding cultural heritage.

This auspicious event brought together stakeholders from various ministries, including Health, Tourism, and Climate Change, as well as representatives from UNESCO and EMA. While the exhibition showcased the innovation and skill of chefs, mixologists, and bakers, promoting appreciation for culinary arts as a vital part of the creative economy.

In his speech Mr. Bakhtiyar emphasized Iran's commitment to preserving cultural heritage through meticulous restoration and conservation of historical sites and artifacts, as well as international collaborations with organizations like UNESCO. The event concluded with a walk-through of gastronomy tables from various culinary schools, including Cresta Oasis, a leading institution in gastronomy and hospitality.
