IRAN CULTURAL COUNSELLOR MEETS ZIMBABWE’S TOP STREET THEATRE ICON

Mr. Hamid Bakhtiyar, the Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Zimbabwe has this Wednesday, 9 July 2025, had the unique honour of receiving Zimbabwe’s pioneer of street theatre, Mr. Freddy Kapfupi Manjalima, who came to the Cultural Centre to familiarize himself with the famous and world acclaimed Iranian culture as well as to explore the opportunities and possibilities of cooperating with Iranian theatre players. 

 

During their meeting, Mr Bakhtiyar and Mr Manjalima discussed ways in which the Zimbabwe creative sector can cooperate with its Iranian counterparts.

 

On his part, Mr Bakhtiyar told Mr Manjalima that Iran is always ready to cooperate and to move forward the Zimbabwe – Iran cultural agenda, and to further develop the ever-expanding cultural relations between Zimbabwe and Iran for the benefit of both countries’ cultural actors.

 

Mr Manjalima reassured Mr Bakhtiyar of Zimbabwe’s creative sector’s readiness to cooperate and collaborate with its Iranian counterparts.

 

At the end of their discussions, Mr Manjalima toured Iran’s permanent art and cultural exhibition mounted in the Cultural Centre’s library.
