Muslims in Zimbabwe this Friday 05 April 2024 unequivocally called out on barbaric and heinous acts being perpetrated on the heroic, struggling and suffering people of Palestine by the Zionist apartheid regime of Israeli that has the backing of Western countries, especially America.
All spoke with one booming and commanding voice, that genocide in Palestine cease with immediate effect, and that the issue in Palestine is no longer a political and religious matter, but is now a purely human right catastrophe that clearly defines Israel as a brutal and satanic nation full of blood on its hands and with no moral international standing.
Speaking at a function to commiserate and share the suffering of the Palestinian people on Al Quds day held at Zimbabwe's ruling political party ZANU PF' headquarters in Central Harare, speakers expressed their disdain of Israel and their dislike of the double standards peddling Western nations who are backing the barbaric state of Israel to the core.
They noted that despite the war in Palestine having been declared a genocide, Israel continues to bombard the suffering people of Palestine without restraint.
Speaking at the event, the guest Speaker and a visiting religious and academic scholar, Dr Sheikhtabar who is based in the holy city of Qum, gave a colloquial analysis of the historical colonial transgressions of Europe on Africa and Asia, a tendency that is driving Israel to continuously occupy Palestine since 1948.
He said Africa, India and Iran had to fight the colonial hegemony of the colonialists in order to reclaim their freedom.
It is the legitimate right of Palestine to free herself from the same shackles of Israeli colonialism and reclaim its rights and standing in the International community of nations.
He cited Iran as an example, where dissenting voices were silenced under the Shah's rule, yet under the leadership of the late Grand Ayatollah, Imam Ruhollah Imam Khomeini, everyone is happy and the country is flourishing.
He said the friends of Palestine and all the peace loving people of the world should expose the double standards of the Western countries who remain silent in the face of horrible attacks on hospitals, child starvation and the deadly siege on women.
He said the world is dealing with a regime that does not recognize international protocols, a barbaric country that attacks hospitals, refugee camps, foreign diplomatic mission compounds, international peace making NGOs, and also a country that neglects UN security council resolutions for a ceasefire as well as a verdict of the International Court of Justice at the Hague that declared Israel's actions as genocide.
He said overall, Palestine would reclaim its freedom, as illustrated by the historical struggle of sister countries.
Sheikh Ibrahim Mpache of the Istiqhama Foundation said it is disheartening that Israel continues to target Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan. He said Palestinians are facing an acute shortage of water, medicine and food.
Sheikh Henry Balakazi of the Friends of Palestine, while commiserating with the people of Palestine, thanked Zimbabwe's political leadership for bestowing the freedom of worship on the people of Zimbabwe.
Sheikh Abdullah Makwinja, in remarks read on his behalf, noted that Zimbabwe Muslims fully support Palestine’s bid for freedom and self-determination.
The Zimbabwe Muslim Students body said Zimbabwe is equally feeling the pain of the Palestinian people.
