Light and Waiting Competition in Ilorin, Nigeria

The Al-Qā’im Annual Quiz Competition, themed "Waiting for the Light", was successfully conducted to commemorate the birth of Imam Mahdi (AJFS). The competition was organized by Madinat-ul-'Ilm Academy Family and aimed at deepening students' knowledge of the life, status, and mission of Imam Mahdi (AJFS). It was open to secondary school students and capable primary 4+ pupils.

The Al-Qā’im Annual Quiz Competition, themed "Waiting for the Light", was successfully conducted to commemorate the birth of Imam Mahdi (AJFS). The competition was organized by Madinat-ul-'Ilm Academy Family and aimed at deepening students' knowledge of the life, status, and mission of Imam Mahdi (AJFS). It was open to secondary school students and capable primary 4+ pupils.

Competition Format & Execution

  • The quiz was conducted electronically via a dedicated application.
  • Each participant had only one attempt, with 45 seconds allocated per question.
  • The system was programmed for instant scoring and automated submission to the organizers’ email.
  • Participants were required to enter their full names, phone number (or a parent’s), and educational level to ensure fairness.

Participation & Selection Criteria

  • The competition took place on February 12, 2025, at 7:30 PM.
  • A total of 10 best-performing contestants (5 males and 5 females) were selected based on:
    • Highest scores (minimum 50% passing score).
    • Earliest submission time in case of score ties.
    • Total time spent on the quiz, with shorter durations ranked higher.

  4. Abdulganiy K. Salimat (JS1) – 60%
  5. Muhammadshareef Maryam Opeyemi (SS3) – 50%

Prizes & Recognition

  • The top 10 winners (5 males and 5 females) were each awarded a cash prize of N10,000 by the leader and mentor of MIA Family.
  • The awards were presented on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM at MIA Family headquarters, Ilorin.
  • No proxy collection was allowed unless approved by the management.

Conclusion

The first edition of the Al-Qā’im Annual Quiz Competition was a resounding success. The fairness, integrity, and competitive spirit displayed by the participants made it a remarkable event. The competition will continue to serve as a yearly platform to educate, inspire, and reward students who are committed to learning about Imam Mahdi (AJFS).
