Funeral Commemoration for Iran’s Martyred Supreme Leader at Imam Ridha Islamic Schools in Uganda

A funeral commemoration ceremony in honor of Iran's Supreme Leader was held at Imam Ridha Islamic Schools in Kiteezi, Wakiso District. The event brought together school administrators, students, religious leaders, and representatives from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to pay tribute and offer prayers.

The program commenced with congregational supplications and recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an dedicated to the soul of the late Iranian Supreme Leader and other individuals described by participants as martyrs from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Brother Hussein Kayongo delivered an introductory address, during which he spoke about the life of the late Iranian Supreme Leader. He stated that the leader was born in Mashhad, Iran, and would be buried there at the age of 86. He further noted that the leader's books had inspired many people, particularly young people across different countries. Habyarimana also said that the late leader had stood against oppression and injustice and asserted that his ideology would continue to inspire supporters despite his death.

The ceremony also featured a Qur'an recitation by Sheikh Abdul Rahman Salim, a student and Imam at Imam Ridha Islamic Schools, in recognition of the late Iranian Supreme Leader.

Speaking during the ceremony, Sheikh Zubair Gubiri Kayongo, Director of Imam Ridha Islamic Schools, joined participants in commemorating the late leader. In his remarks, he expressed the view that the leader's death should not go unanswered and made political statements condemning the United States and calling for the downfall of what he described as tyrannical regimes.

The Iranian Cultural Counselor at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Rezaei D. Ali Asghar, thanked the management of Imam Ridha College for its efforts in educating and equipping young people with knowledge and practical skills for a brighter future.

Addressing the students, Mr. Rezaei described Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei as one of the most influential Islamic personalities of the modern era. He said that, for millions of Muslims, particularly followers of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them), Ayatollah Khamenei is regarded as both a distinguished Islamic scholar and a religious leader who seeks to guide the Muslim community in accordance with the Holy Qur'an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family).

Mr. Rezaei emphasized that throughout his life, Ayatollah Khamenei had devoted himself to serving Islam, promoting justice, defending the dignity of Muslims, encouraging unity within the Muslim Ummah, and inspiring young people to become knowledgeable, faithful, and responsible members of society.

He urged students to pursue education alongside moral values, stressing that knowledge without faith and morality is incomplete. He encouraged them to read widely, think critically, develop their talents, and use science and technology for the benefit of humanity while maintaining a strong relationship with Allah through prayer, the Holy Qur'an, and the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt.

Mr. Rezaei reminded the students that they were future leaders of their communities and encouraged them to study diligently, respect their parents and teachers, help those in need, speak the truth, uphold their faith, and strive to serve humanity sincerely. He concluded by praying for Allah's blessings upon the students, asking for beneficial knowledge, strong faith, good character, and success in both this life and the Hereafter.

In his closing remarks, he left the students with the following message, which he attributed to Ayatollah Khamenei:

"Build your future with knowledge, strengthen your heart with faith, and always serve humanity for the sake of Allah."

While reflecting on what he described as the legacy of the late Iranian Supreme Leader, Mr. Rezaei said that the leader had championed global peace and security, demonstrated charismatic leadership, and used his wisdom to guide generations beyond Iran's borders. He further stated that the leader had supported people resisting oppression and injustice around the world.
