Based on the arrangements made with Tehran University of Medical Sciences, on Wednesday, Aban 17, 1402, a meeting was held with the presence of Mr. Dr. Arman Zargaran, Director of International Affairs Development of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Mir Mohammad Reza Seyed Hosni, an expert of the international recruitment and marketing unit of the aforementioned management. Jack Ming, the head of Anhui Yibu Education Institute, Dr. Michael Montalbo Yang, a professor at the University of Las Pinas in the Philippines and active in the field of sending students to different countries, and Mr. Abdolmajid Abolghasemi, the Cultural Counselor of I.R.Iran, held a webinar on the fields of cooperation for sending fee-paying students to Iranian universities, and discussions and exchanges of ideas took place during the session. Initially, Mr. Abolghasemi, while welcoming and appreciating the preparation of the meeting by Tehran University of Medical Sciences, provided explanations about the activities of the Anhui Yibu Education Institute, which has been active in the field of sending students abroad for about twenty years. He said that currently this institution is connected with more than 200 Chinese universities and colleges and has been able to send a large number of students to Philippine universities during these years. Mr. Abolghasemi considered the 25-year agreement between Iran and China to be the best opportunity to strengthen and develop academic relations between the two countries and expressed hope that Cultural Center, as the trustee of the cultural diplomacy apparatus of the I.R.Iran, could provide the basis for this connection so that the universities of the two countries make the best use of each other's scientific and educational capacities.

 

 

In the following, Dr. Arman Zargran, Director of International Development of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, presented explanations regarding the scientific capacities of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and stated that Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services includes 10 faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, paramedicine, nursing and midwifery, nutritional sciences and dietetics, health, rehabilitation, traditional medicine and modern medical technologies and is considered one of Iran's public universities that offers its fields in day courses and self-governing campuses and night courses in some fields provides paramedical services and has more than 15,000 students and 2,000 specialists in the post-graduate course and 1,675 faculty members. He further said: Many countries in the world strive to admit a considerable number of international students to their universities, and the I.R.Iran, having universities at the international level, has been able to take an active part in this competition, and The University of Medical Sciences is no exception to this rule and currently students from 72 countries are studying in this university.

 

In addition, Mr. Jack Ming, the president of Anhui Yibu Education, thanked for the opportunity given to him, and said: YIBU has been focusing on sending students abroad for nearly twenty years, collaborating with over 200 Chinese universities and colleges. They have sent over 300 doctoral students and 1000 master's students to Philippine universities, such as East Asia University in Manila, San Carlos University in Cebu, Institute of Health Sciences, Women's University of the Philippines, and others. Referring to the meeting a few months ago with the Cultural Center, he announced that this institution is interested in developing scientific and academic interactions with the universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. For example, he proposed four types of student admissions in the section on sending tuition-paying students. The first type are undergraduate students who have completed their first three years (undergraduate) at a university in China and are eager to travel outside China to complete their degree at other universities that accept credits from their first three years of classes allowing students to finish their fourth and final year at that university and obtain their degree. In short, this type of education is called 3+1.

 

The second type of students are those who seek to graduate in Iran in the master's degree or doctorate, or both, of course, with a discount on the tuition fees of B/C level universities in the Philippines.

 

The third type involves conducting specialized classes for Chinese students in a specific field and educational level, with a capacity of 25 to 30 students, which are translated and presented in Mandarin Chinese by a simultaneous translator.

 

Finally, the fourth option is that students participate in intensive Persian language courses before the start of the academic semester, and after entering the university, they take and complete their course units together with other students. If Tehran University of Medical Sciences is ready to implement the 3+1 education model, it is possible to send a significant number of students for this option.

 

He added that we hope to find a way for academic cooperation between China and Iran so that more of our Chinese citizens can benefit from high-quality education of Iran's prestigious universities at a reasonable price. Therefore, Yibu Educational Institute is interested in cooperating with the Cultural Center and the University of Medical Sciences to provide education for a large number of Chinese nationals inside Iran.

 

Furthermore, this institution is ready to cover accommodation expenses and invite Iranian representatives to participate in a conference with the aim of direct communication with provincial universities and local tourism companies to send more students and tourists to Iran.

 

It was decided at the end of the meeting that the Anhui Yibu Education Institute would formally submit its activity records to the University of Medical Sciences in Iran via email. This is intended to pave the way for joint collaborations and specialized sessions to be discussed.
