Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai and Maharashtra College of Arts, Science and Commerce

on November 22,2025 Maharashtra College of Arts, Science and Commerce, in collaboration with the Research Academy of Social Sciences (RASS), hosted an international conference on “Socio-Economic Aspects of Education, Health, and Technology” at the Fatima Zakaria Padmashree Hall. The event brought together distinguished dignitaries, faculty, students, and invited guests for a day of scholarly exchange and cultural cooperation.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Mr. Hassan Mohsenifard, Acting Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai; Mr. Mohammad Reza Fazel, Cultural Attaché and Director of the Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai; Dr. Sirajuddin Chougle, Principal of Maharashtra College; Dr. Hemlata K. Bagla, Principal of HSNC University, Mumbai; eminent administrators and professors such as Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Dr. Salim Khan, and Dr. Ahmed Khan; along with members of the Board of Trustees, faculty, students, and invited guests.

The conference was inaugurated with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a gesture of hospitality through the presentation of gifts to the invitees. The highlight of the ceremony was the formal signing and exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation between the Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai and Maharashtra College of Arts, Science and Commerce. The MoU was executed by Mr. Mohammad Reza Fazel, Cultural Attaché of the Culture House of Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai and Dr. Sirajuddin Chougale, Principal of Maharashtra College.

The MoU will remain in effect for two years from the date of signing, with provisions for extension upon mutual agreement. Termination is permissible only with a minimum of 60 days’ written notice.

Highlights of the Conference

In his welcome address, Principal Dr. Sirajuddin Chougle introduced the faculty and outlined the rationale for hosting the conference. Mr. Mohsenifard expressed his delight at participating in the event and elaborated on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s advancements in the field of medicine, which drew keen interest from the audience. Other speakers emphasized the relevance of the conference theme, particularly in the context of the growing influence of artificial intelligence on education, health, and technology.
