Third Eye Asian Film Festival : This year’s 20th Third Eye Asian Film Festival is being held from January 12 to January 18, 2024 in Mumbai and Thane. Selected films in the festival will be screened at Citylight Cinema, Mahim and Thakur College of Commerce and Science in Kandivali.
The 20th Third Eye Asian Film Festival features twelve films from Indonesia, Egypt, Nepal, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Sri Lanka in the Asian Spectrum section, while seven films from Iran will be screened in the Country Focus section. Along with Asian films, the competition section of Indian films and Marathi films will be the attraction of the festival.
The Indian film section includes twelve films in Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi languages. It includes 12 movies like Family, Deep Freeze, Bijaya Porey, Yea Yagya Naam Nai, Atma Pamphlet, House of Cards, Episode 13, Seyuz Sanadhan, Aaroh Ek Prithibhi, Mini, Whispers of Fire and Water, Gorai Pakhri.
On the occasion of the birth centenary of the famous Bengali director Mrinal Sen, the festival will have a separate section of his films. Also, a special award for film writing will be presented this year in memory of late Sudhir Nandgaonkar.
Along with film screenings, open forums with distinguished jury members, master classes with directors and technicians have been organized during the festival.
