Iranology Stall in Jamia Millia Islamia On the occasion of the 105th foundation day Celebrations of JMI, New Delhi

From October 29thto November 04th2025,Coinciding with the anniversary of the foundation festival of Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, an Iranologys tall was set up with the efforts of the Culture Houseof Islamic Republic of Iran, New Delhi. This Hall was designed and implemented with the aim of introducing Iranian culture, literature, and art to connect two countries of Iran and India.

Professor Mazhar Asif,vice chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia University, inaugurated the pavilion and visited it along with the deans of various faculties. Dr. Faridoddin Faridasr, the Cultural Counsellor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi, along with Dr. Qaherman Soleimani, the Director, Persian Research Centre, New Delhi also visited the Iranian pavilion and the festival complex while attending the university. The presence of these cultural officials indicated the importance of cultural interactions between the two countries and the effort to expand scientific and artistic communications.

The Iranologypavilion displayed a diverse collection of Iranian literary, artistic, and handicraft works. These works included valuable books on Persian literature, authentic Iranian handicrafts such as enamelling, inlay work, and pottery. Visitors were also provided information about Iranian history and culture.

The Iranology pavilion was warmly welcomed by professors, students and local visitors. Those interested in Persian literature and Iranian art, while visiting the stall, asked numerous questions about Iranian culture and history, indicating a widespread interest in learning more about this field.

The event provided a good opportunity to introduce the cultural and artistic richness of Iran to the Indian academic community. It also paved the way for strengthening cultural relations between the two countries. The warm reception of the stall indicates the high potential for cultural interactions between Iran and India, which can be developed in the future.
