A group of 18 students from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, who participated in a summer course on Iranian studies led by Professor Shahnaz Kama from the ParZor Foundation Delhi met with Dr. Faridoddin FaridAsr, the Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi, on July 1, 2025, during a academic visit. They also toured the central library of Iran Culture House. Dr. Faridoddin FaridAsr welcomed all the students and began by introducing the Iran House and its significance among the cultural missions of foreign countries in India. He explained the activities of the office in two areas: Persian language education and Iranian studies. He further discussed the Shahnameh and the relationship between Iran and India. He described the Shahnameh as the written history of Iran's myths. He emphasized that the study of the Shahnameh reveals that Iranian history and Cultural philosophy. He continued by stating that Iranian painting flourished through the illustration of the Shahnameh, as kings sought visual representations to clarify the themes expressed in the poetry. Several exquisite and handwritten copies of the Shahnameh from the Noor Microfilm Center, along with a number of Iranian studies books, were displayed for the students. The students expressed their satisfaction with their visit to this cultural center while browsing through various Iranian studies magazines. Several students inquired about Persian language classes, and their questions were answered. Afterwards, the students visited different sections of the library and the book café, where they were presented with gifts and treated to refreshments.
