The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Interfaith Dialogue Council issued a statement and condemned the burning of the Holy Quran and the insulting of religious sanctities in Sweden.

The text of the message of Hojjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Mohammad Mahdi Imanipour, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Religious Dialogue Policy and Coordination Council, is as follows:

In the name of God

Once again, one more evil, throwing dust on the sun

From time to time, under forged pretenses, under the support of the so-called pro-freedom governments, Satan's mercenaries desecrate Islamic holy places. This time we witnessed the burning of the hearts and lives of millions of Muslims or the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish embassy in Sweden.

This is not the first time that Sweden has become the arena of satanic shows against Islam and Muslims.

The Holy Quran is the book of life, death and resurrection

The Holy Qur'an and its revelations are the most sacred, dearest and greatest relic of the Holy Prophet - may the peace and blessings of God be upon him and his pure family - among Muslims.

Muslims live, grow and return to God with the Qur'an. The Holy Quran is the book of life, death and resurrection for Muslims.

Muslims all over the world day and night recite verses from this divine book, pray to God with the Holy Quran and sanctify and honor this book and love it and it is with this heavenly book that they spend their life on earth.

Holding such vile shows, under the pretext of protecting freedom, angers Muslims who have always respected the holy things, symbols, works and temples of other religions and religions - from the endless cruelty and darkness of this demonic show.

It is not a secret that these evil behaviors seriously harm the peaceful coexistence of the followers of religions, rituals and cultures, and make the atmosphere of dialogue between religions and the interaction of cultures dark.

I, as the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Council for Policy Making and Coordination of Religious Dialogue, strongly condemn the burning of the Holy Qur'an, insulting religious holy things, and wounding the hearts and souls of millions of Muslims.

The minimum anticipation of the followers of the Holy Quran from the leaders of religions and intellectuals and free people of the world, especially the residents of Western Europe and North America, which has become the scene of these shameful shows for years, is to declare clear innocence of these anti-Islamism and burning Muslims, and to disgrace the false and fraudulent equation of freedom. It is an insult to religious sacred things.

We pray to Almighty God not to take us away from His love, light and pathway.
