Cultural Council of the Embassy of Iran Nairobi participates at the 24th Nairobi International Bookfair at Sarit Center Expo hall from 27th September to 1st October. The Nairobi International Book Fair (NIBF) is the regional marketplace for books and it brings together publishing professionals, authors, booksellers, print suppliers, media, and readers from Africa and around the world. The NIBF has grown to be one of the leading book exhibition place in the region. This event is organized by the Kenya Publishers Association.

The Cultural Council of the Embassy of Iran participated at the 24th Nairobi International Bookfair held at Sarit Centre Nairobi. The Nairobi International Book Fair 2023 runs in Nairobi, Kenya from September 27 – October 1, 2023. The fair’s theme is “Nurturing Talent Through Publishing.”

The Nairobi International Book Fair is the regional marketplace for books bringing together publishing professionals, authors, booksellers, print suppliers, media, and readers from Africa and around the world. Organised by the Kenya Publishers Association, it has grown to be one of the leading book exhibition places in the region since it was first hosted in 1996.

Iran showcased books on Iranian Culture and heritage and touristic Pamphlets in addition to various Islamic religious books and handicrafts.

The Kenya Publishers Association has revealed that the 2023 edition of the fair will be hosted at the Sarit Centre Expo Hall, Westlands, Nairobi on the last weekend of September. Those who attend get to interact with Publishers, thousands of schools, school owners, parents, students, book lovers, and book industry stakeholders who attend the event every year. The book fair provides a platform for networking and showcasing of goods and services.  

Ambassadors  present at the Bookfair include Gabriela Martinic (Argentine Republic) and the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kenya Dr Jafar Barmaki among others.

The Cabinet Secretary of Defence Aden Duale was also present among several books editors, readers, publishers and many others.

This year’s Fair has seen a steady increase in the number of exhibitors, 120 stands are fully taken, compared to less than 100, from last year’s event. Some of the foreign exhibitors coming to the NIBF include China, India, Abu Dhabi, Iran, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania and Uganda
