To strengthen the cultural diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and expand artistic cooperation in East Africa, the Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kenya, Dr. Mahdi Beiki, met with Mr. Isaac C. O. Oprong, President of the East African Art Center and Director of the Art Life Group, at the Iran Cultural Council in Nairobi.

Dr. Beiki highlighted the important role of art in promoting truth, justice, peace, and support for the oppressed, noting that cultural and artistic exchanges are essential in strengthening relations between Iran and African nations. He also emphasized the longstanding historical and cultural ties between Iran and Kenya's coastal region, including the Persian influence in Mombasa and Lamu, the Shirazi communities, and the shared linguistic and cultural heritage between Persian and Swahili.

Mr. Oprong expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and reaffirmed that art is a universal language for promoting peace, justice, and human dignity. Drawing on his experience in developing young artists across Africa, he stressed the need to improve market access for artists through joint initiatives in training, exhibitions, marketing, technology, and international networking.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to collaborate on a series of joint cultural and artistic initiatives. The Cultural Council will provide educational resources related to the Minab martyrs, while the East African Art Center and Art Life Group will coordinate art competitions, specialized workshops, and exhibitions. Selected artworks will be showcased in Nairobi, with the possibility of future exhibitions in Iran.

Both parties also agreed to explore long-term cooperation through cultural weeks, artist exchange programs, educational workshops, promotion of Iranian handicrafts, and collaborative art projects. These initiatives are expected to strengthen cultural diplomacy, deepen Iran–East Africa relations, and promote the shared values of peace, justice, resistance, and cultural understanding through art.
