The Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uganda, Mr. Rezaei Ali Asghar, visited Imam Ridha Islamic School in Kagoma, Wakiso District, to officially launch the Minab Essay Challenge and strengthen educational and cultural cooperation between the Embassy and the institution.

Mr. Rezaei was welcomed by Sheikh Bashir Zubair Kayongo, Director of Imam Ridha Islamic Schools, who praised the longstanding relationship between the school and the Iranian Cultural Counsel and reaffirmed the institution's commitment to continued collaboration in education and cultural exchange.

During the event, Mr. Rezaei introduced the Minab Essay Challenge, an initiative aimed at encouraging students to reflect on humanitarian issues through essay writing, storytelling, painting, and public speaking. He explained the background of the Minab incident and urged students to promote peace, justice, and the protection of children's rights through their creative work. Outstanding participants will receive cash prizes.

The Cultural Counselor also announced scholarship opportunities for top-performing students upon completion of their high school studies, demonstrating the Embassy's continued support for academic excellence.

Imam Ridha Islamic School, founded in 1978 by the late Sheikh Zubair Kayongo, currently enrolls 715 students and offers both secular and Shia theological education. The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from both parties to strengthen educational cooperation, cultural exchange, and student development.
