Iranian Cultural Counselor Bids Farewell to the Mufti ‎ ‎

The Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uganda, Dr. Abdollah Abbasi, paid a courtesy call to His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, at his office at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) Headquarters in Old Kampala on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. ‎ ‎

Dr. Abbasi informed the Mufti that he had come to. bid him farewell following the expiry of his tenure as the Cultural Head at the Iranian Embassy in Kampala.

He expressed his profound gratitude to the Government of Uganda, the Mufti, the UMSC leadership, and the entire Ugandan citizenry for the warm cooperation extended to him, which enabled him to accomplish his mandated duties during his stay in Uganda. ‎‎

In his response, Mufti Mubaje commended Dr. Abbasi for the commitment and dedication he exhibited, noting that his efforts contributed to strengthening the cordial relations and cooperation between Uganda and Iran.

‎“Your legacy will continue to be remembered,” Sheikh Mubaje remarked. ‎‎

The Mufti concluded the meeting with a prayer, beseeching Almighty Allah to grant the outgoing Cultural Counselor good health and guidance in his future endeavors. ‎ ‎ Present at the meeting was Sheikh Zubayir Yusuf Serunjogi, the Public Relations Officer at the Iranian Embassy and Hon. Issah Katungulu Luyimbaazi, the African Youth Ambassador.‎ ‎
