Iranology seminar at Excel vocational Training Center

This attracted 1,500 participants including students and staff of the training college which offer vocational and technical studies.

The ceremony was graced by H.E. Mr. Majid Saffar, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uganda, Mr. Abdollah Abbasi, the Iranian Cultural Counsellor, Mr. Issah Katungulu Luyimbaazi, The African Youth Ambassador, Prof. Adam Ssebyala, the academic professor and president of Uganda Shia Ithna Ashari Muslim Community among others.

While speaking, Mr. Shafiq Mwanje,the Director of Excel vocational Training Center welcomed the invited guests including the Iranian Ambassador.

He informed participants that they have so far spent 18 years of service while shaping the youth in different vocational skills.

This institute was established on 19th February 2006 with 71 employees.

They have managed to enroll 2,000 trainees in both technical and business courses such as Hotel and institutional catering, hair dressing and beauty, industrial art and design with decoration, tailoring and fashion design, motor vehicle mechanics, building and construction, electrical installation and maintenance, welding and metal fabrication, plumbing, journalism, early childhood education and development.

Mr. Issah Katungulu Luyimbaazi, the African Youth Ambassador gave an overview of Iranology seminars which focus on tourism, culture, education, science, Technology and innovation that highlights the development and achievements of Iran in those fields.

He implored Youth and students at the University to emulate the Iranian Youth who uses their talents, abilities and expertise to develop their nation through creating solutions to the challenges of the community in creative industry, culture, education, health, science and Technology.

He noted that youth should wakeup and starting asking themselves what they are contributing to their communities and the beloved country Uganda and should always ignore foreign cultures that abuse the local culture.

 

Prof. Adam Ssebyala, the president of Uganda Shia Ithna Ashari Muslim Community spoke about the achievements of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and noted that the exemplary characters of Imam Khomeini that shaped the status quo and led to numerous developments in science, Technology and innovation that the world is witnessing today.

He also spoke about the factors of secrets of the achievements such as being people centered not individual.

He talked about the high literacy rate of Iranian people including women lecturing in universities, medical fields, public offices among others.

He noted that Iran produces products and services at European standards but cheaper compared to the global market regardless of the 45 years of economic sanctions by Western imperialists.

 

H.E. Mr.  Majid Saffar, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran recognised guests present and it was his pleasure to be at Excel vocational Training Center for Iranology seminar which bring awareness about the rich cultural values of Iran.

He mentioned about the great works of Persian poets that are installed in Persian carpets and carrigraphy.

He noted that Iran has contributed to science of the World history in a number of ways such as exploration of renewable energy, nanotechnology, among others.

It is an important gesture to realize the knowledge of different countries in bringing gaps of cooperation.

He recognised the need for the world to amplify the voices of the oppressed Iranian people against occupiers.

He noted that UN security Council should consider the acts done to Palestinian people and independently make decisions.

This war has invended not only Palestine but also neighboring countries like Syria.

The reality is that the occupying regime has taken advantage to massacre innocent Palestinian people but we can use our influences in support of the oppressed nation.

He rallied students to write an essay on how Iran has achieved its developed regardless of the economic sanctions.
