The Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) has congratulated members of the media on the occasion of Journalists’ Day.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, 17 Mordad (August 8) is marked in Iran’s official calendar as Journalists’ Day, commemorating the journalists who, through their integrity and the credibility of their pen, have given added value to the sacred profession of conveying information.

Hojjat al-Islam Mohammad-Mahdi Imani-Pour, Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and the country’s public diplomacy chief, marked the occasion with the following message:

“The arrival of Journalists’ Day is a reminder of the continuous and selfless efforts of those who serve as channels for conveying the message of the strength and steadfastness of Islamic Iran in today’s turbulent world.

Today’s journalists are not merely transmitters of news; they are truthful narrators of reality, enlighteners of public opinion, and ambassadors of awareness on the challenging battlefield of competing narratives.

At a time when the battle of narratives has become as decisive as other arenas, the role of journalists in realizing the ‘Jihad of Clarification’ (Jihad al-Tabyin) has become more prominent and decisive than ever.

Committed journalists, with a responsible pen and an insightful perspective, strive to lift the veil of ambiguity, distinguish truth from the dust of distortion, and present an accurate and fair portrayal of events.

Domestically, through their intelligent and conscientious presence, journalists contribute to strengthening social solidarity, enhancing public trust, and reflecting the demands of the people. Internationally, through professional language and accurate narratives, they can present the world with a true, dignified, and civilizational image of Islamic Iran and its rich culture. This is a great responsibility that undoubtedly plays an influential role in the path of cultural diplomacy and dialogue among nations.

On this auspicious day, I consider it my duty to sincerely congratulate all distinguished, committed, and truth-seeking journalists, particularly those working in the media sector both inside and outside the country. I also express my appreciation for their often-unseen yet influential efforts to safeguard awareness and truth.

I pray to Almighty God to grant all honorable journalists success, health, dignity, and continued strength on the path of enlightenment, truth-telling, and service to society.

Dr. Mohammad-Mahdi Imani-Pour
Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization
