- Istana Budaya is also known as Palace of Culture, is mainly venue for all types of theatre including musical theatre, operetta, classical concerts and opera from local and international performances.
- Istana Budaya one of the agency who works under Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture of Malaysia (MOTAC).
- The Istana Budaya was officially opened in 1999 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad.
- Istana Budaya’s Mission is developing artistic excellence in the performing arts with the vision to be the best performing art theater hall in Malaysia and the entire world.
- Istana Budaya’s fuction is to elevating art of dance, music and theater performances to a level of excellence and professionalism as well as planning, organizing and managing local and international performing arts and programmes.
- Istana Budaya have two venue, Panggung Sari and Lambang Sari. Panggung Sari main auditorium hall which can accommodate 1,408 audience in total includes 124 seats in orchestra pit because the stage can move.
- Lambang Sari is smaller auditorium, it is arena stage black box which could accommodate 281 audience, suit for smaller scale performances.
- Istana Budaya has 3 artist groups which is Artistana, National Symphony Orchestra and Malaysia Traditional Orchestra led by Mr Mohd Yazid bin Zakaria.
