Malaysian expert calls Iran ‘source of resistance’ for regional countries

.

Magnus told IRNA on the sidelines of the 8th International Conference on Solidarity with Palestinian Children and Youths held in Tehran on Sunday.

“I have been working on the topic of Palestine for 15 years of my life,” she said, noting that she had attended the conference to make a difference.

Magnus said that it is time to take more concrete actions than before.

Elsewhere in her remarks, the participant said that the Western media are financially supported to back a single narrative about Israel.

Independent media should play a crucial role in combating that narrative and present a true picture of the situation in Palestine, she noted.

Touching on the 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime against Iran, she described Iran as a source of resistance for regional nations, particularly Palestine and Yemen.

Over 100 participants from 32 countries attended the international event in Tehran on Sunday.

The event is held to commemorate Mohammed al-Durrah, a young Palestinian boy, killed by Israeli forces in 2000.

The international event features attendees from various countries, including Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Turkey, Bangladesh, Tunisia, Serbia, Malaysia, and Zimbabwe, among others.

The conference also commemorated Iran’s defense against Israeli aggression, which began on June 13 with large-scale Israeli assaults. The US joined the war, bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities under the pretext of preventing nuclear weapons development. The war ended on June 24 after Israel was forced to unilaterally cease its aggression.
