We are determined to enhance relations between Iran and the Philippines
Sabudin N. Abdul Rahim, in a meeting with the Ambassador and Cultural Counselor of our country in the Philippines, said: We attach great importance to the expansion of cultural and religious cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and there are very good capacities for cooperation that should gradually be utilized to strengthen relations.
According to the Public Relations Report of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, in order to examine the fields of cooperation with the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, Yousef Esmaeil Zadeh, Ambassador and Abdolmajid Abolghasemi, the Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Manila with Sabuddin N. Abdurahim, the new Secretary of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) met and discussed.
Esmaeil Zadeh considered the holding of such meetings as a factor in strengthening and expanding Muslim relations between the two Asian countries, and pointed to the cooperation of the embassy and Cultural Center of our country with some mosques and dar al-Qurans in the Philippines in the direction of developing Quranic diplomacy over the past years.
The Ambassador of our country expressed satisfaction with the atmosphere of peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians in the Philippines, the good and increasing participation of Muslims in the development of cultural, social and civil affairs of the society for the social life of Muslims in order to better introduce Islamic teachings, including peace, friendship and brotherhood.
He further pointed out the high capacity of Iranian universities, the readiness of scientific, academic and religious assemblies of Iran to exchange information and conclude university memorandums with Mindanao State University MSU in the field of Islamic education and humanities, holding joint scientific and religious seminars and exchanging professors. And the student announced in the form of scholarships and study opportunities in various fields of Islamic and Quranic sciences.
Esmaeil Zadeh explanations regarding the preparations for the presence of Filipino Muslim artists in the fields of calligraphy, painting and handicrafts at the International Exhibition of the Holy Quran in Tehran and the preparation for the presence of Iranian Quranic artists in the fields of calligraphy, painting and handicrafts at the International Exhibition of Muslims of the Philippines and the presence of international reciters of the Holy Quran and Iranian tawasih groups in the Philippines' Quranic programs and circles and invited selected Filipino reciters and memorizers to participate in the "41st International Holy Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran".
While inviting the new Secretary of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) to attend Iran's international conferences, including the 38th International Islamic Unity Conference, he expressed the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate and cooperate in cultural and artistic, economic, social, and religious and denominational programs and religion between the Muslim countries of the ASEAN region and the participation in specialized exhibitions of the halal industry.
At the end of his speech, the ambassador of our country emphasized that there is a readiness to establish extensive relations with the Filipino Muslim community in the economic field, and we would like Filipino Muslim companies to be introduced to Iran for expanding economic activities, enabling Iran to reflect their information.
The new secretary of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos also said in this meeting: This national commission attaches great importance to the expansion of cultural and religious cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and there are very good capacities for cooperation, which should be gradually be utilized to strengthen relations.
The meeting ended with the presentation of a gift by the Ambassador and Cultural Counselor of our country to the Minister of Muslim Affairs.
