On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Iran Culture House in Mumbai, a cultural and educational Memorandum of Understanding was signed between this institution and the United Association of Isna Ashari Iranians of Poona. The signing ceremony took place on October 8, 2025, at the Iranian Imambara in Pune.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Iran Culture House in Mumbai, a cultural and educational Memorandum of Understanding was signed between this institution and the United Association of Isna Ashari Iranians of Poona. The signing ceremony took place on October 8, 2025, at the Iranian Imambara in Pune.
The event was attended by Hassan Mohsenifard, Acting Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai; Mohammad Reza Fazel, Cultural Attaché and Head of the Iran Culture House in Mumbai; Abbas Tajik, Head of Consular Affairs; Dr. Mohammad Khajeh Noori, President of the United Association of Isna Ashari Iranians of Poona; Maulana Seyyed Kumail Asghar Zaidi, Imam of Imambara Pune; Maulana Seyyed Aslam Razavi; along with Persian language teachers and students.
The ceremony opened with welcoming remarks from Dr. Mohammad Khajeh Noori, who presented an overview of the Association’s activities and highlighted its longstanding efforts in organizing Persian language and literature classes.
In his address, Mohammad Reza Fazel, Cultural Attaché and Head of the Iran Culture House in Mumbai, emphasized the fruitful history of cooperation between the two organizations. He regarded the signing of the memorandum as a significant step toward further strengthening and expanding their joint cultural and educational initiatives.
Consul General Hassan Mohsenifard expressed his pleasure in meeting members of the Iranian community in Pune. He underscored the importance of preserving one’s mother tongue and encouraged compatriots to remain committed to maintaining and promoting the Persian language.
Under this memorandum, the Iran Culture House in Mumbai and the United Association of Isna Ashari Iranians of Poona agreed to collaborate in the following areas:
* Organizing cultural festivals featuring food, films, and handicrafts
* Persian language courses, Exhibitions and educational workshops focused on Iranology
The program concluded with presentations by Persian language learners and their instructor, who shared insights about their motivations for studying the Persian language.
