The first day of the conference began with an inaugural session featuring a welcome address by Director of the International Conference Dr Syeda Asmath Jahan Head Department of Persian & CAS MANUU as well as the theme and overview of the conference by Convenor of the International Conference Prof Aziz Bano Department of Persian & CAS MANUU This was followed by the address of Guest of Honor His Excellency Orhan Yalman Okan Consul General of Turkiye Hyderabad and Prof gaforova Umeda Director and Main Researcher of Human Research Institute Bobojon Gafurov Khujand State University Tajikistan,who discussed the global influence Maulana Rumi

The Department of Persian & Central Asian Studies, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Culture House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai organized the Two-Day International Conference on "Influence of Maulana Rumi on the World Literature" "تاثیر مولانا رومی بر ادبیات جہانی " on February 13-14, 2025.
The conference focused on Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi's deep and ongoing influence on world literature, which included a wide range of languages, civilizations, and literary genres. The conference brought together leading scholars, academics, and literary experts from India and around the world—Iran, Tajikistan, Türkiye, Cyprus, Bangladesh, and Pakistan—to discuss Rumi's monumental contributions to literature, spiritual teachings, and influence on both Eastern and Western literary traditions. The meeting included a presidential address, A keynote lecture and paper presentations will be given on many aspects of Rumi's legacy, such as his poetry, spiritual philosophy, and ongoing relevance in modern literary conversation.

The Chief Guest, His Excellency Aaghai Dr. Mohammad Reza Fazel, Director, Culture House of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mumbai, and Special Guest, His Excellency Aaghai Mahdi Shahrokhi, Consul General, Islamic Republic of Iran, Hyderabad, were unable to attend the conference for various reasons. Aaghai Moqaddemi, Deputy Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, attended and provided an overview of Rumi's worldwide perspective.
Prof. Azarmi Dukht Safavi, Founder Director of the Advisor Institute of Persian Research at AMU in Aligarh, Former Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Chairperson of the Department of Persian at AMU, and President of the All India Persian Teachers' Association in New Delhi, delivered the keynote. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, MANUU, offered the presidential remarks, highlighting the need of incorporating Rumi's ideas into today's reality.
Mr. Md Meraj Alam, Faculty of Turkish Language, Department of Persian & CAS, MANUU, gave the session's final vote of gratitude. Dr. Qaiser Ahmad, Associate Professor, Department of Persian and CAS, MANUU, presided over the occasion.
The technical sessions followed the opening session and the major keynote address. The two-day International Conference included five technical sessions that were held both online and offline. total 53 research article received, and Sixty-five professors and researchers presented incisive presentations, adding to the rich academic discourse.
The valedictory session of the Two-Day International Conference was held at 4:00 PM on February 14, 2025, at the Library Auditorium, MANUU, and was chaired by Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, MANNU. Dr. Syeda Asmath Jahan, Head, Dept. of Persian & CAS, MANUU, began the session by felicitating guests. Prof. Aziz Bano, Department of Persian and CAS, MANUU, delivered the conference report, covering significant Summarizing major discussions from both days. Guest of honour Aaghai Ali A. Niroomand, Regional Director, Noor International Microfilm Centre for Southern States, Hyderabad, and Chief Guest Prof. Abdul Khaliq Rashid, Visiting Professor from Kabul University, Afghanistan at CP&CAS, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, discussed Maulana Rumi's personality and ideas. Professor Azarmi Dukht Safavi delivered the presidential speech. Dr. Syeda Asmath Jahan, Head of the Department of Persian and CAS at MANUU, gave the session's final vote of thanks. Mr. Md Meraj Alam, Faculty of Turkish Language, Dept. of Persian & CAS, MANUU, presided over the occasion.
