A gathering to defend Palestine against Israeli tyranny by artists and a wide range of Malaysian people was held yesterday in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.  The meeting started at 2:30 pm local time with the recitation of verses from Kuala Lumpur Majid, then the chairman of the meeting, Mr. Mohammad Azmi Abdul Hamid, gave a speech about Palestine and its usurpation by the Zionist invaders, and spoke about the presence of the cultural and diplomatic delegation of Iran under the supervision of the cultural adviser. Mr. Dr. Habib Reza Arzani appreciated and thanked and mentioned Iran's support in all dimensions, which is an example of Muslims' support for each other. Mr. Zuhiri, the second speaker of the meeting on the situation of Palestine, discussed the situation in GAZA from different angles and reminded and emphasized the support of the Malaysian people in helping the Palestinian people. The next speaker was Mr. Dennis Man, who reported about the Malaysian public demonstrations that were held very widely from the Kuala Lumpur mosque towards the city center last week, with photos and a detailed description, which received the attention of the audience. The prominent Malaysian poet Mr. Samad Muhammad Saeed recited his hymns about Palestine and its oppressed people in Malay language, which filled the gathering hall with a profound silence. Representatives of the Malaysian artistic community including poets-writers-theater actors-film actors-directors-singers expressed their support and sympathy for the Palestinian people, who are part of the Islamic nation, according to their expertise. The meeting ended at half past five in the afternoon by thanking the audience, especially the Iranian delegation present in the meeting.
