The year 2010 was a turning point for science, technology and innovation (STI) policy in Iran. Up until this point, the emphasis had been on developing higher education and increasing the number of academic publications (1990–2000), followed by support for emerging technologies, (2000–2010). According to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raeisi, the US has no business participating in any decision-making process pertaining to the Palestinians living under siege in the Gaza Strip since it is an accomplice in the crimes committed by the Israeli regime against its citizens. During a Sunday phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Iranian president said as much.

The Cultural Centre of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Zimbabwe and the Cinema Society of Zimbabwe have both committed themselves to strengthening cultural cooperation between Iran and Zimbabwe through the cooperating and engaging in cross cultural exchange programs that will further strengthen both countries’ commitment to fostering cultural collaborations and deepening the cultural ties between the two countries.
