The Imam Khomeini Global Award is the most prominent award of the Islamic Republic of Iran, both at national and international levels, which is conducted with the aim of identifying and introducing outstanding scholarly and influential works and intellectual and socio-political activities inspired by Imam Khomeini’s thoughts and approaches.

The founder of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), was a unique personality who, in the era of advanced technologies and the century of fire, anger, and oppression, relied on the path of Islam and the life of the Holy Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and the Infallible Imams (AS) and the pure teachings of Islam and founded a revolution in Iran, the rays of which enlightened other Islamic countries. Today’s awakening and awareness in the Islamic world and the relentless struggle of Muslims in lands such as Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, and other parts of the world are somehow indebted to the thoughts and ideals of Imam Khomeini (RA).

With the view to keep alive the name and path of Imam Khomeini (RA) in the world, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization proposed this award to the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution in 2011 and made some changes in 1402. It is to make a call for participation and after receiving the works in the theoretical and practical sections, it will introduce the selected works after they have been judged by a committee of experts.
