Monday 7 July 2025 Yesterday marked a Sorrowful Day of Ashura, a day of grief magnified with bravery and distinctive courage. the world has gathered in commemoration of Imam Hussein (as). Miles away from barren lands of Karbala, vibrant communities in Zimbabwe, gathered yesterday to mourn and lament for Imam Hussein (as), his family and companions which is a testament to the living inspiration of truthfulness in standing against oppression and aggression.

This day marks a watershed moment in Islamic history, commemorating the tragedy of Karbala, where Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), the third Shia Imam, and his faithful companions gave their lives in 680 AD. Far from being a footnote in history, this momentous event resonated for centuries, inspiring numerous campaigns for freedom, justice, and human dignity around the world.
