The Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr Hamid Bakhtiyar has today the 17th August 2023 met the Brazilian ambassador to Zimbabwe, H.E. Mr Vilmar Coutinho Jnr at the Cultural Centre office following the ambassador’s visit to view the joint exhibition between the Cultural Centre of the embassy of  the Islamic Republic of Iran and various visual artists from around the country.

In his remarks, Mr Bakhtiyar called for greater cultural cooperation between the Iranian Embassy Cultural Centre and the embassy of Brazil. He said that cultural exchange programme would be underpinned by holding joint exhibitions with the Brazilian embassy.

He noted with satisfaction the strong bonds of friendship existing between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Brazil.

He also said Iran enjoys cordial cultural relations with so many countries from around the world.

In response, the Ambassador said his embassy would be happy to partner the Cultural Centre of the embassy of Iran as well as some local artists in mounting cultural exhibitions at either the Cultural Centre or at the Brazilian embassy.   

He said his embassy would bring in Brazilian artists to Zimbabwe who would take part in the exhibitions. 

He further noted that such exhibitions would be an excellent opportunity to promote joint cultural exchange programmes between the three countries.

Before holding the talks, the ambassador toured the exhibition being held in the Cultural Centre library, where he had the chance to appreciate the Iranian exhibits as well as the paintings on display. He also had a chance to interact with the participating artists.

The joint exhibition which started yesterday ends today.
