Five-day Quranic teachers training course
With the cooperation of the Cultural Consulate of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Al-Mustafa Islamic University (PBUH), a five-day educational course for the training of Quranic teachers for schools was held from Saturday 14/12/2024 to Wednesday 18/12/2024 in the computer hall of the said university.
In the opening ceremony of this training course; Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Seyyed Abdul Fattah Nawab; H.E. Mr. Majid Safar, Honorable Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uganda ,the respected representative of the religious jurist in matters of Hajj and Pilgrimage and accompanying delegation; Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Ruholah Dehghani; The honorable president of Al-Mustafa Islamic University (PBUH), Mr. Mohammad Kazemi; a distinguished and international reciter of the Holy Quran was present as the instructor of this educational course and the Iranian cultural consular.
During this five-day training course, with the aim of training Quranic teachers in schools, 49 teachers from 9 schools were trained as follows:
1. Imam Reza High School (AS)
2. Amir al-Mominin (AS) High School
3. Imam Sadiq (AS) High School
4. Medina Al Alam High School
5. Imam Hassan High School (AS)
6. Imam Ali (AS) High School
7. Tawhid High School
8. Emirates High School
9. Jinja High School
At the end of this five-day training course, all the participating teachers were given a certificate of completion of the training course.
The opening ceremony of the said training course was held on Saturday morning, dated 14/12/2024, in the computer room of Al-Mustafa Islamic University (PBUH). This ceremony with the recitation of several verses from the Holy Quran by Mr. Mohammad Kazemi; A distinguished and international reciter of the Holy Quran started as the instructor of this training course.
Then Hojjat al-Islam wal Muslimeen Dehghani; The president of Al-Mustafa Islamic University (PBUH) in a short speech welcomed the guests and participating teachers and thanked the Iran cultural consular for holding this practical training course. He advised the teachers present at the ceremony to always focus on research, skill training and knowledge enhancement.
In the continuation of Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Seyyed Abdul Fattah Nawab; During his speech, the honorable representative of religious scholars in Hajj and Pilgrimage matters, while thanking the cultural consular for holding this training course, explained the important words of Imam Ali (a.s.) regarding the importance of following the Holy Quran. He mentioned the different levels of people's use of the Holy Quran: reading, familiarity with the meanings and concepts, and acting on the Holy Quran and added: "We should try to pay attention to the Holy Quran at all the mentioned levels."
Pointing to the point that the Holy Quran is the book of life, he noted: "The Holy Prophet (PBUH) had the role of a messenger and brought the Holy Quran from God with the aim of guiding humanity. Therefore, man should learn the instructions of his life from the Quran. take care and present their issues to this holy book."
At the end of his speech, he introduced Nahj al-Balagheh as a very important book and a brother of the Holy Quran and advised the followers of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) to be diligent in reading and following the instructions of these two books.
The final speaker of the ceremony was the Iranian cultural counselor. He appreciated and thanked the presence of the guests and teachers, especially Hojjat al-Islam wal Muslimin Nawab and the accompanying delegation at the opening ceremony of this training course.
He stated that the purpose of holding this training course is beyond the mere transfer of information, and he stated concepts such as practicing mutual understanding, presenting complex Quranic concepts to students in a smooth and fluent manner, and increasing the spirit of criticism among other purposes of holding this training course.
The Iranian cultural counselor considered learning until the end of life as one of the characteristics of a real teacher and called such training courses an opportunity during which teachers will be able to learn new strategies and skills and be able to use them in their future careers. take He added: "Teachers have the greatest influence on students, both in terms of academic progress and in terms of helping them achieve their dreams."
At the end, he expressed his hope that the result of this training course will be skills that will help the development of Quranic sciences in Uganda and help teachers to achieve their educational goals and missions.
