The Cultural Centre Holds a Grand Ceremony on The Birth Anniversary of Imam Ali (As), 2025

The Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Zimbabwe yesterday on the 13 Rajab of 2025, hosted a grand ceremony in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), at Aale -Muhammad Mosque in Avondale, Harare, Zimbabwe. This joyous occasion was marked by a majestic gathering, which brought together Muslims from diverse backgrounds and organizations in Zimbabwe.

The commemoration of Imam Ali's (as) birth anniversary holds great significance for Muslims worldwide, as it celebrates the life and legacy of a remarkable individual who embodied the values of justice, compassion, and wisdom. As the first Imam of the Shia tradition, Imam Ali's (as) leadership and teachings have had a profound impact on Islamic history and culture. Through his unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and equality, Imam Ali continues to inspire Muslims around the world to strive for excellence and moral integrity.
 
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Maulana Anusa Mutuma, a graduate from the Islamic Seminary School in Lebanon. This was followed by opening remarks from the Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Hamid Bakhtiyar. He emphasized the exemplary character of Imam Ali, highlighting his bravery, courage, and unwavering commitment to unity among diverse racial and ethnic groups who had gathered yesterday in honor of Imam Ali (as), while remarks set the jovial tone for the evening's celebration.

The newly appointed Charged-Affairs, Mr. Thaheri, of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Zimbabwe, also graced the occasion with his presence. In his address, he eloquently spoke about how Islam has been protected and guided by the leadership of Imam Ali (as) and his progeny. Mr. Thaharri went on to emphasize the importance of emulating Imam Ali's character in our daily lives, inspiring the audience to strive for excellence and moral integrity. His words resonated deeply with the gathered Muslims at the event.

Sheikh Ismael Duwa, the President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Zimbabwe, delivered a thought-provoking speech, highlighting the values of the family of the Prophet of Islam as the “city of knowledge while Imam Ali (as) is the door." Sheikh Duwa also underscored the similarities between Shia and Sunni traditions, promoting unity and understanding among Muslims. 
 
The evening's celebration was further enriched by an exclusive, captivating entertainment presented by students from Fatima Zahra (as) College, a school under Fatima Zahra (as) Women’s Organization. Additionally, inspiring speeches were delivered by recently graduated Maulanas from Al- Mustafa Islamic Seminary schools in Iran. Their heartfelt words and reflections on Imam Ali's (as) life and legacy left a lasting impact on the audience with a promising future for leadership.
 
The birth anniversary celebration of Imam Ali (as) was a momentous occasion, one that continues to shape Islam and its people in this modern day. The event served as a poignant reminder of the importance of unity, compassion, and moral courage.
