The closing ceremony of the 3rd Students Quran Competitions at Al-Mustafa Islamic College Kyengera
This function was organised with Cooperation from the Cultural Consulate of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uganda.
Among the guests that graced the closing ceremony was His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, the first deputy Mufti of Uganda, Alhaji Abdulkarim Kaliisa,Managing director of Salam Charity Foundation, H.E. Mr. Majid Saffar, Ambassador Iranian Ambassador, Mr. Abdollah Abbasi the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Rouhollah Dehghani the principal of Al-mustafa Islamic College, 482 students from Universities and High schools such as Islamic University in Uganda, Kampala University, Makerere University, Metropolitan University, Kampala International University, Makerere University Business school and Al-Mustafa Islamic College Kyengera, Media partners and well wishers.
The competition followed the following categories,
30 Juz for boys only: Kiggundu Umar from Arkam school, Abdulrahman Muyindo,
20 Juz for boys only: Zimulah Abdul Assad from Zimura
10 Juz for girls: Hussein Bashir from Bilal, Ayman Mayanja,Namubiru Abiidah from Sumaya Girls school, Namutebi Swaburah from Kampala International University, Miss Halima Murshid from Zuhuraq1q education centre
Tahqiiq for boys only: Kasumba Uthman from Almustafa Islamic College, Ssebyala Najib from Almighty Islamic College, Mubiru Farouk from Zuhura education centre,
Tartiil for girls only: Namatovu Halima from Islamic University in Uganda, Nakafuma Hadijah from Islamic University in Uganda, Namusitte Meajuma from Islamic University in Uganda
Social, cultural and religious sermon presentation was won by Miss Nalukwago Sharifah from Al-Mustafa Islamic College, Miss Mbogo Husinah from Islamic University in Uganda, Miss Nambawa Bashiirah from Islamic University in Uganda.

The event had Holy Quran book exhibitions in different languages
The jury committee consisted Sheikh Ali Walugembe, Sheikh Abdulnoor Kasule, Sheikh Musa Sebulime among others.
Mr. Abdollah Abbasi, the Iranian Cultural Counsellor thanked the organisers and participants that the Quran competition possible.
He rallied participants to always recite Quran during their lives as it benefits this life and the hereafter through illumination and meditation.
He narrated the story of Imam Khomeini who requested his doctor to treat his eyes so that he recites the Holy Quran as it was among his daily act of worship.
He noted that the holy Quran is recommended in the morning, evening time, dawn among other significant duration of the day and night.
Miss Namatovu Halima, from Islamic University in Uganda participated in Tilwa category and exhibited her unique recitation.
Alhaj Abdulkarim Kaliisa, the Managing director of Salam Charity Foundation thanked organisers for honouring the late Dr. Anasi Abdunoor KALIISA's enormous contributions to Islam in Uganda.
He noted that Dr. Anasi Abdunoor Kaliisa was dedicated Islamic scholar who positioned himself to national legal framework, setting an example to family values, promotion of social cohesion, organizing programs that helped the underprivileged people including House of Zakah and Salam Charity Foundation among others.
His efforts focused on building unity,cultural understanding, peace, interfaith dialogue, advisory role on local and international level and stability.
His emphasis on education inspired many youths and students and published a number of books and lectures on compassion and spelt misconceptions.
He advocated for social equity and justice in Uganda and beyond for the underprivileged making him a respected voice of command and admiration.
He requested the deputy Mufti of Uganda to mobilize old shuyuks and organise meet ups in order to avoid misinformation and controversies.
Dr. Rouhollah Dehghani the principal of Al-mustafa Islamic College recognised invited guests and participants to the students' Quran Competitions and focused on Quran and science.
He thanked the guest of honour for always attending events whenever he is invited by the University management.
H.E. Mr. Majid Saffar the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran noted gathering as Muslim faithfuls for the cause of Holy Quran is compassion as it has different knowledge and wisdom full of inspiration and insights that guide our entire lives.
He noted that unity is a treasure as it help us to learn patience in hardship, togetherness brings about strength to face challenges and stand up for the oppressed people allover the world.
He quoted the holy Quran as it stands on emphasis of social justice and protecting the rights of the weak amidst circumstances such as the situation in Gaza,Lebanon and Palestine. He reminded participants that the prophet of Islam stood out on the right side and protected the weak which are the values of the holy Quran.
He noted that Muslims are one community which need to bring the message of peace and unity.
He informed the participants that International community denied international laws on Palestinian people who are bombed and murdered in daylight without strong condemnation and punishing oppressors.
His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, the first deputy Mufti of Uganda thanked the management and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and called upon Muslims to pray for Palestine, Lebanon and Syria.
He noted that the imperialists haven't left their agenda of neocolonialism and stealing from other countries.
He congratulated Al-Mustafa Islamic College for having the annual students' Quran Competitions and focusing on students participation from different institutions.
He called upon the Quran competitors also to join the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council National Competitions scheduled for December 2024 which will be organised at a national level.
Whilstspeaking about the late Dr. Anasi Abdunoor Kaliisa, he highlighted what his father went through to raise the celebrated Islamic scholar whose accomplishments shined to the level of being remembered for creating a good beginning to other faithfuls. He noted that the holy Quran raises you in ranks and positions in the way no one has control over but almighty Allah.
Remembering Dr. Anasi Abdunoor Kaliisa was a thoughtful idea as it help others to be inspired and do better.
At the end of his speech, he led a prayer to the oppressed nations in middle East and the late Dr. Anasi Abdunoor KALIISA.
